Organization Purpose
Our goals are to promote better communication, support, fellowship and unity among homeschooling families. We strive to provide group activities for our children, which are fun, educational, and result in promoting team spirit.
L.I.G.H.T. is a Christian homeschool support group in Northwest Tennessee, esp. the Dyersburg/Dyer County areas.
L.I.G.H.T. stands for Learning In Godly Homes Together.
Homeschooling families need support, ideas, and opportunities in order to fulfill their God-given responsibility of teaching their children. Please join us.
Our Philosophies
A. Parents have a constitutional right and God given responsibility to provide the best possible education for each of their children.
For parents who are called to homeschool, this is made easier with the support of other homeschooling parents.
B. Responsibilities should be shared among all members.
No one person or group of individuals should be overburdened.
C. We encourage participation in the political process to safeguard our right to homeschool.
D. Even though it is sometimes neccessary to offer opportunities which may separate the family (such as field trips for older children, Moms meetings, etc.), we believe it is better to keep family together whenever possible.
